Free Screening and Community Dinner
On February 23, 2024, Communities Care, in collaboration with Hot Docs and Story Money Impact, hosted its first event, marking a significant milestone in our journey of making a difference in our community.
The evening commenced with a free community screening of the powerful documentary film "Someone Lives Here."
Following the screening, attendees engaged in an insightful panel discussion led by inspiring community leaders.
Together, we delved into the pressing issue of homelessness affecting youth in our city, exploring possible solutions and committing to advocacy efforts.
The event continued with a heartwarming community dinner and a donation booth, where the generosity of our attendees was overwhelming.
Items collected were later included in over 150 care packages distributed to youth in need on April 26,2024.
This first event was just the beginning for Communities Care, serving as a catalyst for future initiatives and a testament to our commitment to creating positive change in our community.
